Building on foundational machine learning principles, this unit dives deep into the realm of deep learning, exploring its extensive capabilities beyond natural language processing. It introduces students to the core principles of neural networks and their applications across diverse domains such as computer vision, generative models, reinforcement learning, and beyond.
Special emphasis is placed on the practicalities of modeling and training neural networks for a variety of applications, specifically highlighting areas distinct from sequence modeling like image and pattern recognition in computer vision and strategy development in reinforcement learning.
Through detailed lectures and hands-on projects, students will learn to construct, train, and optimize deep learning models that go beyond textual data analysis, embracing the full spectrum of multimedia and interactive applications. This unit aims to equip students with the ability to develop cutting-edge solutions using deep learning frameworks and tools, fostering skills that are applicable to real-world problems across various sectors.
