Course Overview

This module introduces the foundational principles and practices of DevOps, emphasizing the integration of software development (Dev) with IT operations (Ops). It covers essential methodologies that promote collaboration, efficiency, and the continuous improvement cycle in the software development life cycle. Students will explore Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), and Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Through practical exercises, they will use popular DevOps tools and technologies to automate and monitor processes across the software development and deployment lifecycle. The focus will be on creating a seamless workflow that facilitates frequent updates to applications in production, fostering a culture that bridges gaps between teams for improved productivity and faster resolution of issues.

  • Students must be in possession of a minimum MQF Level 4 full qualification or higher related to Software Design, IT, or Computing
  • While not mandatory, any relevant experience in IT, software development, or related areas will be considered a benefit.
  • A demonstrated interest in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and software design, along with a commitment to successfully completing the programme.
  • In the case of international students, where English is not an official language, students need to demonstrate proficiency in the English language through IELTS (Score: 6.0) (International English Language Testing System) or equivalent.
