Course Overview

The Governance, Risk, and Ethics module provides a comprehensive overview of corporate governance, risk management, and ethical considerations. Participants examine the principles of corporate governance, the roles of stakeholders, and effective governance structures. The module highlights the evaluation of internal control systems, the role of internal audit, and review processes to ensure effective governance and risk management.

Students develop skills in identifying and assessing risks, integrating risk management into decision-making, and understanding the impact of risk on organisational objectives.

A key focus is on comparing global corporate governance models and assessing their effectiveness.

Ethical considerations are integrated throughout the curriculum, covering ethical theories, their real-world applications, and the development of ethical decision-making skills. The module emphasises the importance of professional values and ethics, as well as strategies for managing ethical dilemmas. Additionally, it addresses the growing significance of corporate social responsibility and sustainability reporting.

The main assessment method will be as follows: 100% assignment (Word Count: 4,000 – 6,000 words)

Hybrid classes (subject to change)

  • Applicants must hold a qualification at MQF Level 4 or equivalent.
  • While not mandatory, relevant work experience in accounting, finance, or a related field will be considered advantageous.
  • A demonstrated interest in accounting principles and financial transactions, along with a commitment to successfully completing the programme.
  • Applicants from countries where English is not the primary language must provide evidence of English proficiency, such as an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent.
